Donald M. Temple has steadfastly advocated for civil and "silver" rights for over four decades. More than just a lawyer, he brings a unique blend of cultural sensitivity, deep insight, and practical knowledge of local, state, and federal judicial procedures. His extensive trial and appellate experience is complemented by a long-standing relationship with the legal, political, and community networks in which he practices.

Originally from Philadelphia, Temple earned B.A. from Howard University, his J.D. from the University of Santa Clara School of  Law in 1978 and his LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1982. His career reflects a passionate commitment to public service. He has served as Senior Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the District of Columbia, Subcommittee on Judiciary and Education, and as former Chairman of the District’s Civilian Complaint Review Board. His candidacy for the D.C. Delegate’s seat further highlights his dedication. Temple’s advocacy for the proverbial "little guy" in civil rights, commercial, and employment disputes mirrors his core values.

Temple has a proven track record of successfully litigating complex and sensitive legal issues. His practice areas include Title VII, 42 U.S.C. Section 1981, D.C. Human Rights Act violations, civil and commercial litigation, encompassing civil fraud, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, corporate governance, real estate disputes, wrongful foreclosures, and labor-related violations. A skilled communicator and negotiator, Temple prioritizes amicable resolution of disputes.

Highly active in the D.C. metropolitan community, Temple co-founded and lectures at the Charles Hamilton Houston Law School Preparation Institute. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards and frequently lectures on legal topics to law students and practicing attorneys. His accolades include the National Bar Association’s Gertrude Rush and Heman Sweatt Awards, the Washington Bar Association's Charlotte E. Ray Award, Georgetown Law Center’s Father Drinan Award, the National Conference of Black Lawyers’ 2020 Lawyer of the Year Award, and the Metropolitan Washington 2018 Employment Lawyer of the Year Award.
